Like the north side, the south side falls outside the usual visitor’s remit in the Campo Santo. Walled gravestones mark the boundaries of family homes, and small plaques pay homage to their former inhabitants. Unlike the north side, however, here there are lawns, trees, and footpaths. In its current state, the area seems to have received more attention and sustained investment.
