Moving Mountains is working with the School of Communications at the Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC) to promote investigative journalism in Áncash, a region typically overlooked by the mainstream Peruivian press which is concentrated in Lima.

We have created five undergraduate scholarships for independent research projects. Collaborating with five talented students of journalism, we are producing a documentary about the Yungay landslide and two long-form articles about the history of press coverage and forced adoptions. In August 2023, Moving Mountains sponsored a week-long field trip to Áncash for the students participating in the programme. Read our blog to find out what they got up to.
